[No.0042 Kanji] Ice *Polite Expression*

japanese kanji for ice
On the other day, we talked about snow, so I've picked up this kanji which is a similar.
この前雪の話をしたので、似てるところでこの漢字を取りあげます。
(konomae yukinohanashiwoshitanode, niteirutokorode konokanjiwo toriagemasu)

The meaning is ice.
意味は氷です。
(imiha kooridesu)

In winter we don't use it, but in summer, we have a dessert whose name has this kanji in itself.
冬は氷をあまり使わないですが、夏にはこの漢字が名前に入ったデザートがあります。
(fuyuhakooriwo amaritsukawanaidesuga, natsuniha konokanjiga namaenihaitta deza-toga arimasu)

Do you know it?
知っていますか?
(shitteimasuka?)

The answer is shaved ice.
正解はかき氷です。
(seikaiha kakigooridesu)
#The pronunciation is different from "koori". It's pronounced "goori".

Do you have the same one in your country?
みなさんの国にもありますか?
(minasannokuninimoarimasuka?)

It's like just an ice which is shaved into small pieces, topped syrup, but it tastes delicious.
ただ氷を細かくしたものにシロップをかけているだけなのですが、美味しいんですよね。
(tadakooriwo komakakushitamononi shiroppuwokaketeirudakenanodesuga, oishiinndesuyone.

It sounds not so nice at the moment though I have just imagined it lol.
今は寒いので想像しても全然美味しそうではありませんでしたが(笑
(imahasamuinode, souzoushitemo zenzen oishisoudeha arimasendeshitaga)

I'd like to eat many kinds of desserts in various countries, don't you think?
いろんな国のデザートを食べてみたいですね。
(ironnakunino deza-towo tabetemitaidesune)
